Join The Adventure

Be a Part of Our Aviation Family

We are open to young people who wish to learn about Aviation, but also enjoy traditional Scouting activities and adventures.

Our young people take part in activities as diverse as kayaking, abseiling, expeditions overseas, photography, climbing and hovercraft driving. As a Cub, Air Scout or Air Explorer you can learn survival skills, first aid, computer programming, and most importantly for an ‘Air’ division - how to fly a plane and glider.

There’s something for every young person from helicopter rides to hot air balloon experiences. It’s a great way to have fun, make friends, get outdoors, express your creativity and experience the wider world…. And become part of our Aviation family.

Come and Join Us!

If you are thinking of joining our award winning Scout Group as a Cub, Scout, Explorer, Leader, Trustee, Committee Member, Fundraiser or Adult Helper, please get in touch. We will be very happy to hear from you.

Get Involved as an Adult Volunteer

Air Scouting's everyday adventure is possible thanks to our adult volunteers, who support our Cubs, Scouts and Explorers in a wide range of roles from working directly with young people, to helping manage a Group, to being a charity Trustee. We help volunteers get the most out of their experiences at Scouts by providing opportunities for adventure, training, fun and friendship.

Our award-winning training scheme for volunteers means that adults get as much from Scouts as young people. Our approach focuses on what you want to get out of volunteering with Scouts, while respecting how much time you can offer. Over 90% of Scout volunteers say that their skills and experiences have been useful in their work or personal life.

Due to the rapid growth of the Group we are seeking more adult volunteers to join us to support the vast range of Aviation activities and Scouting experiences that we offer to our young people.

Partnering and Support

We are always looking for aviation or engineeering based businesses, organisations and individuals to be involved with our Group to help deliver exciting activities and opportunities to our young people.

This may involve coming along to give a talk to one of our sections, providing subsidised external youth related activities, offering engineering workshops or real-world challanges to get involved with, providing aviation related experiences such as flying in a glider or a light aircraft - or aircraft walkarounds and demonstrations.

If you think you can help in any way, please get in touch by email at sywellairscouts@gmail.com
