Joshua Rises above the rest.....and joins the Best!

Joshua has been in 1st Sywell Air Scouts and Explorers for 8 years. he has enjoyed visits to Air shows, RAF Stations,  aviation museums, and behind-the-scenes tours of some great locations!

He has flown with us, glided with us, hovercrafted with us, and gone parascending with us.

To say he loves aviation does not do him justice.

Joshua has now passed out from RAF Halton after 8 weeks of basic training and after returning for a month of general duties, in which he will support other recruits doing their training, he will join his new unit at RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire.

But, he did not just pass out - He rose above the rest! winning the Mayor of Aylesbury Trophy for demonstrating outstanding determination and perseverance during training.

Josha wrote the following on our social media page:

"I cant thank the air scouts and explorers enough for all you have done for me throughout my 8 years in the group(s). From my first flight, to the many unforgettable visits and tours, and now, graduating from the Air Force's Basic Training. I owe you everything.

I look forward to perhaps visiting the groups at some point and sharing my story (so far). Who knows, a tour of Brize might be on the horizon again?"

After doing his BMT (Basic Movements Training), Joshua will be a fully trained Logistical Mover - loading and unloading supplies and aid all over the world!

Well done, Joshua (Hawkeye) - We are all so very proud of you!
